Plumbers are in high demand along with having the freedom to work for themselves or as a valued employee in construction companies. Prepare yourself for your plumbing apprenticeship with this 28 week practical program. You'll take the first step towards your career, while showing your future employer that you have the drive and skills to succeed in your apprenticeship. You'll learn in our state-of-the-art Building and Construction Training Centre, gaining skills like reading and interpreting plans and specifications, producing technical drawings and using plumbing pipes, fitting and fixtures.
Completion of this program may enable you to advance as an apprentice plumber. You will also have the awareness to follow up other desired careers.
The course content below provides all possible units related to the course. If the course has various streams, the units you are required to study will depend on your chosen stream.

Applicants need to demonstrate the literacy and numeracy skills required to undertake this course through a test as part of the application process. The test will be conducted through Federation College prior to commencement of training. Feedback will be provided to the applicant on their results and types of support, if necessary, available to them.

A: Yes. After you have completed a TAFE Direct Application form, you will be contacted to attend an interview.
Q: Do I have to be an apprentice to do this course?
A: No, you do not.
Q: Is there a uniform?
A: Yes, all students must wear Navy Action Back Overalls and steel cap work boots.
Students are encouraged to seek work experience on Fridays during the course with a licensed plumber to enhance their learning and job prospects. This needs to be arranged by the student.
