The Diploma of Beauty Therapy will teach you a broad range of beauty therapy treatments and services which will allow you to graduate qualified to manage your own beauty salon. These include massage, hair removal, spa treatments, lash and brow treatments, nail technology services, providing advice on beauty treatments and services, selling retail skin care and cosmetic products and many more.
The course content below provides all possible units related to the course. If the course has various streams, the units you are required to study will depend on your chosen stream.
Full-time students will complete 4 days a week of on-campus study with 6 hours a week for online study. Classes are held face to face on campus, with an online component available to be completed at home. Currently, classes are delivered Monday to Thursday 9am - 4.30pm each week (this is subject to change for 2024).
Part-time students will complete 2 days a week in the first year and 2 days a week in the second year face-to-face study in the classroom, with 3-6 hours a week of online study at home.
Additional study time is required to complete assessments, classroom readings, and activities. We recommend that approximately 3-6 hours per week should be put aside for these activities, to cover the online component.
To undertake this course, you must have your immunisations up to date. You will also need to complete a Language Literacy Numeracy review prior to commencement to assess your suitability for this course. Please note: to complete the unit SHBBHRS011 Provide female intimate waxing services, there is a minimum age limit of 18 years old.

Applicants need to demonstrate the literacy and numeracy skills required to undertake this course through a test as part of the application process. The test will be conducted through Federation College prior to commencement of training. Feedback will be provided to the applicant on their results and types of support, if necessary, available to them.
