Then build your career and take the steps to gain your builders registration. Our Diploma of Building and Construction (Building) will give you the skill and knowledge elements required to undertake builders licensing.

With the Australian Government projecting this industry to add 50,000 jobs over the next five years, your newly-developed, specialist skills will be in high demand.

At our state-of-the-art training facility you will learn the technical and management skills needed to confidently become a registered builder on projects up to 3 stories high.

Or you can go on to work as a Construction Project Manager, Site Supervisor or even run a small to medium building business.  

Along with your core units of study such as building structures, codes and standards, selecting contractors and quality management, you can choose from topics including legal requirements, preparing contracts, or monitor costs - all taught by our industry-expert teachers.

Applicants need to demonstrate the literacy and numeracy skills required to undertake this course through a test as part of the application process. The test will be conducted through Federation College prior to commencement of training. Feedback will be provided to the applicant on their results and types of support, if necessary, available to them.

Although there are no entry requirements specified in the Training Package it is recommended that for this program at FedUni TAFE that applicants have 8 years’ including 4 years as an apprentice, experience working in the Building and Construction industry eg trades person, supervisor, foreman, project administrator.

The amount, scope and relevance of each applicants building and construction industry work experience will be determined at the pre-training review. 

Monday 5pm to 9pm - on campus, Wednesday 5.30pm to 7pm - online (trainer available), Thursday 8am to 5pm on campus.

Fees are subject to change annually.

Fees are payable at the time of enrolment. In addition your program may require you to purchase books and materials. Some of these costs may be payable on enrolment day.

2020 TAFE Eligibility Exemptions

 

You could be eligible for government subsidised study at Federation University Australia through the TAFE eligibility exemptions. 

If you have been deemed ineligible for a government subsidised place because you have a higher qualification or have commenced two qualifications at the same level you may be eligible to enrol in a government subsidised place with a TAFE eligibility exemption. Please refer to the TAFE fees website or contact the course coordinator

Other study costs

Students will be responsible for cost of books and materials fee for student resource and assessment kits.

If what you have learned at work, from other programs, courses, from life experience or training provided at work is relevant to this program, you may be entitled to gain subject credits or exemptions.
