This course provides students with an introduction to theoretical knowledge in the area of exercise and sports science and a basic understanding of the effective practical ways to implement this knowledge through instruction. This course has an emphasis on the training principles and instructional methods required to enhance various fitness components of healthy individuals. A focus of this course is the integration and application of training principles through program creation and implementation. Students are required to create a training program addressing the goals of an individual that mirrors good current industry practice and standards. Students will also instruct peers in both individual and group settings.
