This unit builds on theory gained in the unit community, Paramedic Culture and Practice 1 with particular emphasis on remote and rural communities. The unit provides students with fundamental knowledge and understanding of: ambulance service delivery models; the role of the paramedic as a community educator; the paramedic and community health, multiskilling paramedics in remote and rural environments; evidence based medicine in paramedicine; paramedics and the continuum of care; and the changing roles of paramedics in urban and rural/remote communities.
