Physical and Cognitive-neurological Determinants of Occupation (NHPOT2015)

This course will provide students with a thorough understanding of the physical and cognitive-neurological factors of human performance and how they influence engagement in occupation. The role of occupational therapists in empowering engagement in occupation through addressing physical and cognitive-neurological factors through assessment and enabling strategies will be the focus of this course. The course draws in year 1 anatomy and physiology and life span development. The purpose of this course is for students to develop professional skills and competencies in assessment, measurement, intervention planning and implementation of enabling strategies to address physical and cognitive-neurological factors that impact on engagement in occupation.
