This 4-day BTT Training prepares participants for further company specific training by providing them with the necessary training to perform basic hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, bolt tightening and installation tasks. Considered as either a starting point for technicians new to the Wind Energy sector. This course also adds value to trade qualified Electricians and Mechanical fitters by relating their existing trade skills to the context of a Wind Turbine Technical role. Contact hours can vary depending on requirements, however typical contact hours for full-time study are around 25-30 hours comprising of on-campus classes, online learning and self-directed study.

This short course is designed to give student the knowledge and skills to carry out basic tasks as a wind turbine technician, you must hold a Post Trade qualification in Engineering, Electrical or Mechanical. Applicants of this course will be required to:
- Complete an application form,
- Complete a numeracy & literacy selection exercise,
- Attend an interview.
Applicants need to demonstrate the literacy and numeracy skills required to undertake this course through a test as part of the application process. The test will be conducted through Federation College prior to commencement of training. Feedback will be provided to the applicant on their results and types of support, if necessary, available to them.
