Graduate Certificate in Health (Cardiac Nursing)

This course is aimed at Registered Nurses who are currently working in Cardiac Care or Cardiac specific health services. This course therefore aims to equip nurses with the knowledge and skills to be able to work in the Cardiac Care environment.

Entry requirements

This course is open to Registered Nurses working for Queensland Health who have undertaken the Cardiac Nursing Transition Course.

You’d be looking at about 25-30 hours per week (if you’re full time), but this includes on-campus classes and self-directed study (i.e. homework).

Entry requirements (non year 12)

Applicants for this course must hold a Bachelor degree or equivalent professional qualification. Applicants holding other academic qualifications and/or significant managerial work experience may also be granted entry to this course.

Registered Nurses undertaking the Graduate Certificate in Health (Cardiac Nursing) must work a minimum of 0.6 FTE to facilitate the application of theory to the clinical environment.
