The Certificate III in Beauty Services provides the hands-on skills training to cover operational skills and knowledge to enable employment as beauticians and provide a range of beauty services including nail, waxing, lash and brow, and basic make-up services.

Students will complete 2 days per week of on-campus study and 2 hrs online (additional). Classes are held face to face on campus.  Currently, classes are delivered Monday and Tuesday 9 am-4.30 pm (this is subject to change for 2024). 
Additional study time is required to complete assessments, classroom readings, and activities. We recommend that approximately 2 hours per week should be put aside to complete the online component. 

Learner must have achieved desired LLN score and completed PTR.

Applicants need to demonstrate the literacy and numeracy skills required to undertake this course through a test as part of the application process. The test will be conducted through Federation College prior to commencement of training. Feedback will be provided to the applicant on their results and types of support, if necessary, available to them.

Important Information

Direct Debit Payment Plans are available for eligible students to help manage the payment of tuition and material fees throughout the enrolment year (excluding Diploma/Advanced Diploma tuition fees).

Students accessing government-subsidised training under the Skills First Program need to be aware that enrolling in a qualification may affect their ability to access future government-subsidised training.

Free TAFE: Under the Victorian Government Free TAFE initiative, some courses have free tuition for eligible students, however material fees (if applicable) will be payable by the student.  Free TAFE is subject to availability and eligibility requirements.

Completion of the Certificate III in Beauty Services will provide direct credit transfer for units in common with the Diploma of Beauty Therapy.

SHBBHRS011 Provide female intimate waxing services is available as an option for students who are aged over 18 years old, due to age restrictions for this unit.

Students will require access to a computer with an internet connection for access to online classes.
