This qualification reflects the role of community services workers involved in the delivery, management and coordination of person-centred services to individuals, groups, and communities. At this level, workers have specialised skills in community services and work autonomously within their scope of practice under broad directions from senior management. Workers support people to make change in their lives to improve personal and social wellbeing and may also have responsibility for the supervision of other workers and volunteers. They may also undertake case management and program coordination.

Class attendance 2 days per week for 6 hours each week. Placement is 1 day per week for 6 hours or in blocks.
10 hours per week outside of class hours

Placement is required for this course and will consist of 200 hours, 100 hours each year over 2 years of study 

For all TAFE applications, pre-training review questions and a literacy and numeracy review are part of the application process.

Must have working with children check, NDIS check and police check before commencing work placement.

Applicants need to demonstrate the literacy and numeracy skills required to undertake this course through a test as part of the application process. The test will be conducted through Federation College prior to commencement of training. Feedback will be provided to the applicant on their results and types of support, if necessary, available to them.
