This course provides understanding of the two processes of globalisation and innovation at a deep level, reflecting the research literature on this topic that has been developed since the early 1990s. The globalisation process involves the operation of international business (especially multinational corporations), international trade and international capital flows within a global information communication technology system. The innovation process involves the creative application of knowledge in a new form to increase the set of techniques and products commercially available. It is the intertwine between these two processes both in developed and developing economies that provides the basis for analysing in this course strengths and weaknesses emerging in these economies, and the global economy as a whole.
