This course aims to explore emerging communication and design technologies and develop an understanding of the role of digital technologies (ICT) in the professional work of teachers. It will examine how emerging technologies can reform and restructure learning. Pre service teachers will develop capabilities in understanding how ICT is associated with information access and management; information creation and presentation; problem solving; decision-making; communication; creative expression; and empirical reasoning. Students develop knowledge, skills and dispositions around ICT and the ability to transfer these across diverse environments, applications and pedagogical contexts. They will be exposed to the diversity and interconnectedness of ICT, including mobile technologies, social networking and emerging innovative and creative technologies.
