This course is designed to function as an introduction to various perspectives on revolt as expressed in and through literature. Text for this course are drawn from a wide range of literature, from ancient to contemporary. These texts will demonstrate both successful and failed revolt and may be studied from a post-modern position, or viewed from the perspective of such theorists as Marx or Kristeva. A sample list of set texts would include the Biblical Song of Songs, both Aeschylus¿ and Shelley¿s Prometheus, Aristophanes¿ The Frogs, Byron¿s Don Juan, Dostoevsky¿s Notes From Underground, Chekhov¿s The Seagull, Genet¿s The Balcony and a selection of contemporary poetry.
A CSP is subsidised by the Australian Government and students pay a contribution amount. Each unit is classified into a student contribution band, depending on the study area of the unit (this discipline may be different from the study area of your course).
