"This course is divided into two strands: Acting This intermediate course builds on the foundational skills achieved throughout the first year of study by focussing on the issue of performance `style¿. Students will be asked to explore text with a mind to formulating a range of work methods and personal rehearsal strategies pertaining to the specific style of naturalism. The course has been designed to augment work being undertaken in the Theatre Practice strand of the course. The format for much of the work will centre on a detailed study of plays and scene rehearsal. Class work will periodically focus on presentation of these scenes, both within the class and for audiences beyond it. Theatre Practice: Theatre Practice is the component of the course where students explore, in a practice-based way, how basic rehearsal processes evolve into performance. Specifically, students are asked to consider integrating these core processes into the rehearsal and performance of naturalistic material. This project will culminate in small studio-based performance. It is expected that students integrate knowledge, skills and values gained in other skills classes into these performances where and as required. "
