MUSIC THEATRE PERFORMANCE SKILLS 2 (PAMTP3002)

"This course is designed to resolve and refine the practice of the individual in singing and dance as the performer moves towards completion of undergraduate studies in performance. Moving beyond the acquisition of skills towards an awareness of the whole performer, performers will focus on refining their techniques in all skills areas through masterclass style sessions. Work in these classes may be linked to the practical explorations being completed in studio work. This course completes the techniques learnt throughout their undergraduate degree. Vocal repertoire will be taught in individual vocal coaching sessions. Performance practice skills will be taught in a large group. Vocal coaching will continue to develop each student¿s vocal growth and extension and develop individual artistry. This course will complete the work on the student¿s personal portfolio of learned repertoire, which is required for the professional industry. Dance will be taught in the form of skills classes, which will specifically work to enhance the work with project and performance classes. These will be taught as tap and jazz classes once a week. This course completes the development of skills and techniques learnt in dance as an undergraduate. It is designed as a link to, and prepare students for, potential work in the theatre industry. "
