This exciting program is designed for the contemporary performer. A sustainable career in the performing arts requires a holistic and multi-disciplinary approach to training. At our renowned Arts Academy we provide the skills to develop your practice through a comprehensive curriculum that includes classes in acting, singing, voice, movement, dance, creativity, theatre-making, aerobic fitness and mindfulness. We train you to maximise your versatility in the creative arts industry and prepare you for a range of career opportunities in music theatre, theatre, film, stage, screen, cabaret, opera, comedy, streaming platforms, multi-media and emerging creative industries. Each day is intensive and rigorous; through a combination of studio-based classes and public performances you will work alongside leading industry professionals: theatre directors, music theatre performers, screen actors, composers, musical directors, designers and choreographers, amplifying your strengths while expanding your actors tool-kit.

Admissions Criteria for current Year 12 students and recent secondary graduates (the past 2 years)
Satisfactory completion of a Year 12
Compulsory: Selection is based on successful audition as well as completing a year 12 qualification (VCE/interstate or overseas equivalent), as well as meeting the prerequisite study requirements.

Compulsory: Previous higher education studies with results at a pass level, including any 'single subjects of study', or successful completion of a tertiary preparatory program such as the FedUni Foundation Access Studies Program (FAST).

Minimum requirements: Applicants who have not completed secondary education, or undertaken any TAFE or university studies may not be eligible for entry into this program. Entry will be based on a successful audition.
Academic IELTS of 6.0 overall, with no band less than 6.0 or equivalent
Supplementary form
Compulsory: Applicants must complete and submit a supplementary application form to secure an audition. The online form can be accessed from here. For Timely applications, the supplementary application form must be completed and submitted by 28th September 2023 or 24th November for late applications
Audition
Compulsory: The selection process involves an audition. Details about the audition, including key dates, how to prepare and audition locations, are available on the Arts Academy webpage.
For applicants who live a considerable distance away from audition venues, it is possible to audition via the video application process. Please read further information for Distance applicants here.
Audition masterclass
Our audition preparation workshop in is designed to give you the skills to be audition-ready. While there is no obligation for applicants to attend the program, it will give you the opportunity to practice your material in a supportive setting. Read more about the audition masterclass.

$8,948 student contribution amount
A Commonwealth Supported Place is subsidised by the Australian Government. Your fees (student contribution amount) are set on an annual basis by the government and are determined by the discipline area and band of your individual units, not the overall course. Each unit falls into a band which determines the student contribution.
2024 annual student contribution amounts for 1 EFTSL (equivalent full-time student load) range between $4,445 Band 1 to $16,323 Band 4. To find the Band, EFTSL and contribution amount for each unit, check the Sample Structure or refer to the 2024 unit listing.
Fees are adjusted on an annual basis and the indicative amount should be used as a guide only. It is based on a typical enrolment for a student undertaking the first year of study in this course. For 0.5 EFTSL (60 credit point) courses the certificate fee is displayed. Total cost will vary depending on the units you choose, your study load, the time it takes to complete your course and any approved credit you receive.
You will also need to pay the Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF).
You may be eligible for a HECS-HELP loan, which can be used to defer payment of all or part of your student contribution. You may also be eligible to defer payment of your SSAF through a SA-HELP loan.

Deferment of Admission
Applicants are not permitted to defer admission into the program.
To help you get the most from your online learning experience, it's important that you own or have frequent access to a fast and reliable computer that's ideally not more than two years old.
You will also need frequent access to a reliable high-speed internet connection. You should expect to use approximately 5GB of data each month, per unit, just for study use.
