Bachelor of Secondary Education (Applied Teaching)

The Bachelor of Secondary Education (Applied Teaching) will prepare you for a career as a teacher in Victorian secondary schools. In many circumstances, you will receive recognition for prior learning based on your experience and qualifications, enabling you to become a fully qualified VCE (Vocational Major) teacher in the either 24 or 30 months.

The teaching approach is predominantly activity-based and collaborative, which enables you to engage with and explore issues related to developing positive learning environments in secondary school classrooms. It also models High Impact Teaching Strategies, which are used in secondary schools, and you will get the opportunity to practise during placements in secondary schools where the VCE Vocational Major is offered.

The course will be delivered through a blended model that utilises Federation’s well-supported, self-paced learning management system (Moodle) in conjunction with several face-to-face workshops during each year.
